The name Backgammon only became known around the mid-seventeenth century when the Saxons called it the "bac" (back) "gamen" (game) since the pieces when hit go "back" and have to re-enter the "game".

Backgammon is one of those games that have that special something that allows it to achieve a great sense of popularity all over the world and see its popularity survive through numerous cultural changes. If you purchasing it for your collection, then it makes sense to get those that are of made of better quality materials such as genuine leather.
